Standard Servos

The busiest servo shelf and the one most models are designed around. Hitec runs from the HS-311 and HS-422 budget sport servos through the metal-gear HS-645MG and the digital, coreless and titanium-gear D and HS-7000 series; Savox brings high-voltage coreless and brushless servos with steel and titanium gears, including the waterproof SW range for cars and boats. Traxxas and Spektrum steering servos for RTR upgrades are here too.

Match torque to the job — 5–8kg is plenty for a sport plane's tail, 15–25kg for 1/10 steering, and the 40kg-plus monster-torque servos are cross-listed on the Large Scale shelf. Check the voltage rating: HV servos want 7.4V (2S LiPo or an HV BEC), standard servos 4.8–6V.
