The ARA311167 is Arrma's metal centre (center) differential spur gear in 57 tooth, 0.8 module, fitting ten vehicles across the 223S, MEGA and 4S platforms in 1/10 and 1/8 scale. It's the gear that takes drive from the pinion into the centre differential, so everything the motor produces passes through its teeth.

The spur is a wear item by design. Running a slightly loose mesh, picking up grit, or simply accumulating hours will round the tooth profile, and a worn spur meshing with a good pinion will chew the pinion out too. If you can hear the gearmesh changing note or see bright wear on the flanks, replacing the spur before it strips saves the pinion and the diff.

Getting the mesh right matters more than the part. Too tight and the drivetrain binds and heats; too loose and the teeth take shock loading on their tips. The usual method is a strip of paper between spur and pinion while you tighten the motor mount.

Kraton and Outcast are the V2 models. Check the module as well as the tooth count when ordering — a 0.8 MOD gear will not mesh correctly with a pinion of a different module, and Arrma uses several across its range.
