The ARA-2257 is Arrma's replacement centre (center) driveshaft guard, the moulded cover that sits over the centre driveshaft between the front and rear gearboxes. It shields the shaft from stones, sticks and impacts thrown up from underneath, and fits across eight vehicles in the 223S and MEGA ranges spanning both 1/10 and 1/8 scale.

The centre shaft runs the length of the chassis with nothing else protecting it, so it's directly in the firing line on rough ground. The guard takes the damage instead — which is the point of it, and also why it's a routine replacement rather than a lifetime part. A cracked or missing guard leaves the shaft exposed, and a stone strike to a spinning driveshaft is a far more expensive repair than this part.
