The ARA-3396 is Arrma's heavy duty direct mount servo saver in black, with a 25T spline, fitting the entire 1/10 2WD range — Freedom Flyer, Fury, Gorgon, Quake and Vorteks. It combines the servo horn and servo saver in a single compact unit that mounts straight onto the servo output shaft, so there's no separate horn to fit.

The servo saver is what stands between a kerb strike and a dead servo. When a front wheel takes a sharp hit, the saver flexes and absorbs the shock instead of passing it through the linkage into the servo gears. It does that job by deforming, which is why it eventually wears out — a saver that has gone soft lets the steering feel vague and wanders off centre, and one that has cracked stops protecting the servo at all.

Because it's direct mount, fitting is a matter of removing the old unit from the servo spline and pressing the new one on. Note the 25T spline: this is the count on Arrma's standard servos and on many aftermarket units, but if you've fitted a servo from another brand, check the spline count before ordering.
