The turnout Peco kept being asked for. Curved turnouts are the great space-savers of track planning, and by Peco's own admission a tight-radius curved point for Streamline was "requested on and off for a long time" — this is it: adapted from the proven Setrack curved geometry into the Streamline range, diverging left with an inner radius of just 438mm (17.2in). Junctions in corners, yards in alcoves, crossovers on the curve of an oval — the formations small layouts need most, finally possible in Streamline.

Unifrog: Wire It Later, Or Never

This turnout carries Peco's newest frog system, and it ends the old Electrofrog-versus-Insulfrog decision. Straight from the packet, the Unifrog runs with no extra wiring at all — everything is factory-wired live except the frog tip itself, so it behaves like an Insulfrog: lay it, join it, run trains. But underneath, the frog tip has its own wire waiting — connect it through a switch (the PL-13 on a PL-10 point motor does the job) and you have full live-frog running for flawless slow-speed crawling, Electrofrog style. Beginners get simplicity today; perfectionists get the upgrade path forever. Nothing to choose at the checkout.

Geometry Notes for the Planner

Two honest numbers: the 438mm inner radius is genuinely sharp — perfect for the shunters, tank engines and four-wheel stock that small layouts run, but worth a clearance check with very long-wheelbase locomotives and coaches. And the frog angle is 11.25°, inherited from its Setrack parentage, where standard Streamline turnouts use 12° — a detail that matters only when butting formations directly against other Streamline points, and easily accommodated with a little flexi between.

System and Siblings

Right-hand mirror: SL-U76. Need the sweeping version instead? The SL-E87/SL-E86 curved turnouts run 60/30in double radii for flowing mainline junctions. Joins the Code 100 range with SL-10 joiners or PL-80 power feeds; over-centre spring for hand operation; accepts the PL-10 point motor family.
