The Maverick Phantom MT is a classic-style 1:10 monster truck that comes ready to run — the truck, 2.4GHz radio, 7.2V NiMH battery and USB charger are all in the box. Drop four AA batteries into the transmitter and you're bashing within minutes of opening it.

Tough Where It Counts

Waterproof electronics mean mud, puddles and wet grass are part of the fun rather than the end of it. The molded tub chassis keeps weight low and centred, flexible nylon suspension components bend instead of breaking in a crash, and oil-filled shocks keep all four chunky monster truck tires planted over rough ground. The steering servo sits behind a spring-loaded servo saver, and a gear cover shields the spur and pinion from stones and debris.

Four-Wheel Drive Grip

Torque from the 550-size 12-turn brushed motor runs through a steel centre driveshaft to tough metal 4-gear differentials at both ends, with universal-joint driveshafts up front and dog bones at the rear. Combined with the waterproof 60A speed controller (forward, brake and reverse), the MT has enough pace to excite while staying easy enough for a complete beginner to control.
