Every town needs its main street. The Road Kit is the ReadyGrass system's civil engineering department: everything needed to run roads, streets, sidewalks and parking areas across a ReadyGrass vinyl mat, in one box. The clever part is the mat itself — ReadyGrass fibres scrape cleanly away with the included road ruler/scraper to reveal a smooth paintable base exactly where your road goes — and this kit supplies the rest: a foam brush for laying down Top Coat Asphalt (54.4mL, covering around 720 square inches — a scale road some 7 metres long), Top Coat Concrete for sidewalks and kerbs (27.9mL), and a striping pen for centre lines, lane markings and parking bays.

From Grass to Streetscape

The workflow is beginner-proof: plan the route, scrape the grass, brush on the asphalt, edge the sidewalks in concrete, and stripe when dry. The ruler doubles as the straight-edge, so roads run true, and the two paints' realistic sheens do the material-contrast work that makes paved areas read convincingly at any scale. Parking areas, crossings, driveways and a town's whole grid come from the same box — and on N or HO layouts the coverage goes a long way.
