The 9493 is the left and right gearbox halves and differential cover for the Traxxas Magnum 272R transmission, in charcoal gray (grey) — the stock parts fitted to the Drag Slash and the BL-2s Slash Late Model and Slash Modified.

The gearbox halves form the transmission housing, clamping around the gears and differential and holding everything in alignment. A cracked or distorted half lets the gear mesh wander, which shows up as noise, inconsistent power delivery and rapid gear wear. On a drag chassis in particular, the transmission takes a hard shock load off the line every single run.

The differential cover is supplied in the same pack, so a transmission case damaged in a crash can be replaced as a set rather than sourced piece by piece.

Important: these parts are for the Magnum 272R transmission only. Traxxas state they will not fit the standard Magnum 272 transmission. The two share a name but the cases are not interchangeable — check which transmission your vehicle has before ordering.
