While the top-of-the-line trims got the chrome and the V8s, the 1969 F-100 Custom Cab was the truck that actually did the work — and Moebius models it that way: short bed, working trim, and under the hood the Ford 240 straight-six, one of the very few Ford inline engines ever tooled in 1/25 scale. This boxing carries its own provenance too: released as a limited production run through Model King — a few thousand kits — it's the bump-side family's scarce year, the one collectors mention buying first.

The Moebius bump-side virtues hold: authentic body and chassis detail, full interior, soft PVC tyres, and engine-bay detail that rewards sub-assembly building. For modellers 15 and up; read the instructions through and test-fit the cab-to-interior sequence before cement, per the family's known craft note. Paint, cement, hobby knife and sprue cutters required. Box-stock in a fleet colour with a weathered tray, it's period Australia-adjacent too — these Fords worked here as hard as anywhere.

1969 or 1970?

Two years of the same beloved truck share our shelf: this 1969 Custom Cab — the limited Model King boxing with the year's own grille — and the 1970 Custom (MOE1228) with its exclusive 1970 grille and step-bumper option. Grille year and trim are the visual tells; collectors of the family tend to answer "both," since the bump-side kits interchange parts for kit-bashing across 1967–72.
