Maverick Microbe 1/24 2WD Buggy RTR – Orange

The Maverick Microbe squeezes genuine racing hardware into a 1/24 scale buggy small enough to live in a backpack. An anodised aluminium chassis, fully ball-raced drivetrain, oil-filled shocks and a sealed gear differential make this a proper off-road racer scaled down – not a toy-grade micro. Charge the included LiPo, fit AA batteries in the transmitter, and the lounge room, office carpark or backyard becomes your race track.

This listing is for the Orange Microbe (Maverick part no. 150802, also listed as MVK150802). Blue, Red, Green, Yellow and Pink versions are listed separately. Please note: the photos below show the Red version – you will receive the Orange buggy pictured in the main product images.

Real hardware under the shell

The backbone is a front-to-back 1.5mm anodised aluminium chassis plate with composite side guards, carrying a sealed 3-gear rear gearbox with a metal layshaft gear and a sealed differential running metal internal and crown gears. Metal outdrives, axles and rear dogbones handle the abuse, and the whole drivetrain runs on ball bearings – no bushings anywhere.

Racing wheels and tyres

The dedicated Microbe Racing wheel and tyre set uses vented 7mm hex wheels with foam inserts, wrapped in an off-road tread that grips carpet, dirt and dusty tarmac alike. The vented design keeps the tyres consistent over longer runs, while the inserts support the carcass through fast direction changes.

Suspension sorted at both ends

Oil-filled shocks with threaded bodies allow ride-height tuning at all four corners. Up front, rigid bracing ties the suspension and chassis together so the steering stays precise over jumps and rough ground; twin-bellcrank steering with a sprung servo saver protects the SD-01WR micro servo in hard contact. At the rear, tuned geometry keeps the tyres pressed into the surface under power.

Peel, twist, play

The lightweight polycarbonate “Top Notch” bodyshell mounts with Velcro – no tiny body clips to drop in the grass – and the battery tray releases with two 90-degree twist locks for second-fast pack swaps. Everything stays locked down through rolls, jumps and hard landings.

Balanced like a race car

Key components sit low and central for a low centre of gravity and even weight distribution, so the Microbe changes direction cleanly and stays stable under braking and acceleration. At 173mm long with a 119mm wheelbase, it turns tight indoor layouts, carparks and garden paths into legitimate circuits.
