Its iconic design traces its roots back to the Aeronca Champ and Citabria, but was upgraded with inverted fuel and oil systems, plus a nearly symmetrical wing, to allow it to perform “outside” and inverted maneuvers with ease. Skill Level 2 – Next Step After a Trainer – Some Experience Required

Skill Level 2 – Next Step After a Trainer aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who have successfully learned to fly a trainer model and those with the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. And although this is one of the best-handling and easiest-to-fly Decathlon models ever, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly a trainer model like the HobbyZone AeroScout 1.1m and Carbon Cub 1.3m, or models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, and other similar class models before attempting to fly the Super Decathlon 1.2m.

Exclusive Technologies

The BNF Basic version Super Decathlon 1.2m is equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver that features exclusive Spektrum AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. Enhanced AS3X+ works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence better than ever before to deliver an even more locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger airplane. With optional-use SAFE Select, you can activate pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling at the flip of a switch! If you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, simply bind the receiver normally, and only AS3X+ will be active.

This BNF aircraft is equipped with a receiver that is loaded with a Smart Transmitter File (STF) that makes programming your transmitter as easy as a few clicks of a button. Switch assignments, rates, exponential, telemetry, and voice callouts configure themselves. No lengthy step-by-step instructions. No continual adjustments. Just push-button convenience that gets you flying sooner.
