The Dualsky AS700MG is purpose-built for the job: 7.5kg·cm of torque at 6.0V (7kg at 4.8V) to swing and hold mechanical retract units under load, metal gears for the repeated end-stop duty retract cycles impose, and a deliberately measured 0.35 sec/60° transit that gives the gear a smooth, scale-realistic swing rather than a toy-like snap. Per Dualsky's own spec card, it's the direct equivalent of the Spektrum A7040 (SPMSA7040) — a drop-in match for the retract servo fitted across many popular warbirds.

Built for the Bay

The case is retract-friendly by design: at 44.1 × 23 × 24.4mm it sits notably low in height, suiting the shallow wing and nose bays retracts live in, and the 30cm lead with JR connector reaches from wing bay to receiver without an extension on many airframes — though bigger wings still welcome one, and Dualsky's heavy-duty extensions (like the DSSE-150 on our shelves) match perfectly. Twin ball bearings support the output, and the 25T spline takes the standard Futaba/Savox-pattern horn ecosystem — with gears, 25T horns and screws included in the box as spares, Dualsky's standard generosity.

Setting Up

Analog operation keeps it simple: plug in, set end points carefully against the retract unit's mechanical stops, and cycle-test on the bench before first flight — a servo fighting a mechanical stop strips gears and drains packs, and thirty seconds of end-point care prevents both.
