When the airframe gets serious, this is the class of motor it asks for. The XM5050EA-14 V3 is the 515KV winding of Dualsky's third-generation EA series — 1560 watts peak from a 292-gram outrunner, rated for the 70E class: .50–.60 two-stroke glow equivalents, and four-strokes up to .82. It runs 5S–6S LiPo with 6S as Dualsky's suggested working voltage — sixty-size sport and scale models, warbirds and aerobats converting from glow, powered honestly at Dualsky's honest price.

What V3 Brings

Dualsky redesigned every part for the third generation: strengthened components with dedicated heat-dissipation channels, wider-arc magnets on Japanese 0.20mm silicon-steel laminations for stronger torque, and dual-balanced rotors on NMB bearings for smooth spool-up and high-RPM composure. The windings use 220-class wire set in high-temperature epoxy — overload resistance Dualsky rates, in their own words, at five stars. Mounting is both-end capable — firewall-front by default, firewall-back supported — with the X-mount included.

Pick Your Winding

Two V3 windings share the 5050 case: the -12 at 610KV (1400W, 5S working voltage, smaller faster props) and this -14 at 515KV — the bigger-prop winding for 6S, swinging 16–17 inch electric props for scale-appropriate thrust. Same 49.5×48.2mm can, near-identical weight; the winding sets the character.

The System Around It

Dualsky's sheet prescribes the SUMMIT 100 ESC and E-series electric propellers: 16x8E or 17x8E on 5S; 15x8E or 16x8E on 6S — with Dualsky's own note that the 16x8E-on-6S pairing wants good throttle management: it's the top of the envelope, flown with discipline rather than held wide open. DB4 4mm bullet connectors come fitted; the 6mm shaft takes the included prop mount.
