Balsa is the standard material for built-up model aircraft structures, and 4mm sheet is a general-purpose thickness — heavy enough for formers, ribs, and fuselage doublers, but still light and easy to cut with a sharp blade. It sands readily, takes CA and aliphatic glue well, and can be curved with light steaming or water for sheeting over a rounded former.
This is A Grade stock, supplied as a single 4mm x 100mm x 915mm sheet. Sheets are cut from natural timber, so grain, weight, and colour vary from one to the next — worth allowing for if you're selecting for a specific structural role.
