O.S. Engines
The O.S. range from the 15LA trainer engine to the 120AX. Two-stroke MAX glow engines — 15LA, 25FX, 35AX, 46AX II, 55AX, 65AX, 75AX, 95AX and the ringed 120AX — are the standard for sport and trainer aircraft; the FS four-strokes (FS-64V, FSA-72 II, FS-95V) give the quieter, torquier swing for scale and sport models. For petrol there is the GT15 and GGT-15 at 15cc, the GT33 and the four-stroke GF40, and the MAX-55HZ-R heli and 21XZ-B 1/8 buggy engines are here too.
Most engines are listed with their silencer and a few are offered without — the title says which. Spares for every engine are in Engine Parts under O.S. Engine Parts, shelved by model, and the matching glow plugs, mounts and mufflers are two shelves over.

Gasoline and Glow O.S. Engines
You can find the O.S. engine that perfectly suits your model by first deciding whether you prefer gasoline or glow engines. For those seeking the efficiency of gasoline, the O.S. GGT15 offers that and a unique advantage: it combines the convenience of glow plug ignition with the reliability of gasoline power. This 15cc engine eliminates the need for an ignition module, making it lightweight and easy to start using just a glow driver. The GGT15 is a great choice for .61-.91 class models.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for a glow engine, the O.S. MAX-95AX is a high-performance option designed for aerobatic and large-scale planes. It can fit into tight spaces while still delivering an impressive 2.86 horsepower, making it perfect for more demanding models. Its extra-long crankshaft ensures smoother performance, reducing the vibrations common in single-cylinder engines. Plus, the included E-4040 power muffler helps dampen noise while enhancing power.
2-Stroke and 4-Stroke O.S. Engines
You could also make your choice based on whether you prefer the easier maintenance and more top-end power of a 2-stroke engine or the fuel efficiency and higher torque of a 4-stroke engine. For a 2-stroke O.S. engine, the O.S. Max 46AX II is an excellent option for sport and aerobatic aircraft. It has an advanced bi-metallic liner which provides the engine with better durability and compression, ultimately giving it a longer life.
The design allows it to fit a variety of cowls, while the precision fit between the piston and sleeve provides smoother performance. This engine delivers up to 1.67 horsepower and is a great option if you're breaking into nitro-powered flight. On the other end of the spectrum, you have the extremely powerful GF40 O.S. engine. This 4-stroke gasoline engine offers quick response and excellent fuel economy, running on a standard gasoline and oil mix.
Its deeper exhaust note mimics full-size aircraft, adding a touch of realism to scale models. The GF40 also features a PCV system for cleaner operation and comes equipped with a muffler and integral backplate. If you need power and performance in your scale or aerobatic model, the GF40 delivers both.
