The 151099 is the genuine Maverick 390 brushed motor for the 1/16 QBit MT monster truck, fitted with 4mm banana plugs on approximately 55mm leads.

Brushed motors wear out. The brushes themselves are a consumable, and as they wear the motor loses power gradually rather than failing outright — a truck that no longer pulls the way it did when new, or that runs hot and smells of burnt insulation, is usually telling you the motor has done its time. Water ingress and grit will shorten that life considerably.

The 4mm banana plugs mean this is a direct swap. Unplug the old motor, unbolt it, fit the new one and plug it back in — no soldering required, which makes it a repair a newer driver can do without special tools.

The output shaft is 2.3mm with a D-cut flat, which is what the pinion's grub screw seats against — worth checking the flat is clean and unburred before fitting a pinion, since a screw tightened onto a rounded flat will let the pinion slip under load.

A motor change is a natural point to reconsider gearing. The QBit MT uses a 14 tooth 0.6 module pinion (151075) driving a 50 tooth spur (151071), and both are worth inspecting while the motor is out.

Please note: the pinion gear is not supplied with this motor. If your existing pinion is worn or damaged, order part 151075 alongside.
