Code 75: Scale Rail, One Caveat

Code 75 is the finescale choice — rail at true scale height rather than the taller Code 100 — and virtually all modern ready-to-run stock runs on it perfectly. The one caveat is Peco's own: some vintage models with deep flanges (older Lima and similar) can bump on the rail fixings, so a fleet of veteran stock may be happier on Code 100. Mixing both on one layout? The SL-113 transition track joins them cleanly.

Which Flexi? The Two-Way Answer

The Streamline flexi family splits on two letters: sleeper type — this concrete version for the modern image, or SL-100F with timber sleepers for steam through blue-diesel eras — and rail code — this Code 75, or the plain SL-102 in Code 100 for compatibility-first layouts. Same 914mm lengths, same quality; the choice is your era and your fleet.

Laying and Wiring

Flexible track curves by hand to any radius your plan needs — cut to length with a razor saw or track cutters, and clean the cut rail ends before fitting joiners. For power, the Code 75 power feed joiners (Peco PL-81) drop straight on for solder-free feeds, and the feed-little-and-often rule applies: a pair every metre or two keeps running smooth as the layout grows.
