Spitfire Supermarine - English fighter since the Second World War. It is considered one of the best fighters of World War II.

Serial production from the end of 1942, from June 1942 began the alteration of aircraft modification Mk.V last series on the Mk.IX. In service with combat units - from June 1943 (64 squadron). A total of 5656 aircraft were produced in the Mk.IX modification and another 262 vehicles were converted from the Mk.V.
