We are pilots and we fly the same heli you fly, the 180CFX is just amazing, form the box no need so much functional upgrade, however tail torque system is kind fragile on crash and suffer for vibes when fly to head speed.
After many ideas and test we come with a torque tube system that reduce vibrations, because composed by 2 sections, each one supported by 2 bearing for a total of 4 bearing in the assembled torque tube, Both section are connect by special silicon elastomer tubing that cut all resonance frequency and vibes.
Once we start the test we also discovery that this system become a clutch in case of crash, without interfere with normal fly tail functions. We back to design and we determinate the perfect torque load on fly to assure perfect solid transmission during any hard fly maneuvers, but reduce the crash shock and save other tail transmission system.
Micro helicopter upgrades can be a trap – often they look nice but do little for function, and only add weight.
